Piazza Armerina, in the heart of Sicily in the province of Enna, a town known worldwide for its splendid mosaics of the Villa del Casale, a Roman villa of the third century AD Unesco World Heritage. Getting there Airports The Catania Fontanarossa airport lies about 100 km and that of Palermo Puntaraisi about 200 Km, both are easily accessible via the A19 motorway By car (via highway A19 Palermo-Catania) Coming from Catania recommend exit Mulinello (40 km), if you come from Palermo recommend exit ENNA (40 km). Continue to Piazza Armerina and follow the signs to the Villa Romana del Casale (SP 15). Immediately before arriving at the Villa del Casale, follow the signs that indicate Villa delle Meraviglie in the immediate vicinity of the Roman archaeological site. |
